Marc Margulies Receives CoreNet Global New England President’s Award

BOSTON – Nov. 7, 2012 Margulies Perruzzi Architects (MPA), one of Boston’s most innovative architectural and interior design firms, announced today that principal Marc Margulies, AIA, LEED AP, received the 2012 CoreNet Global New England Chapter President’s Award. The President’s Award recognizes an individual’s leadership and commitment to the Chapter as well as contributions to the local real estate community at large.

“Marc’s outstanding, long-term commitment to the CoreNet Global New England Chapter is evident through his Board participation, volunteer activities, and generosity of his and MPA’s time, energy, and ideas,” said Chris Horblit, president of CoreNet Global New England Chapter. “Marc has worked tirelessly on behalf of this organization and is someone who never misses an opportunity to pitch in and help the Chapter. We are honored to present him with the 2012 President’s Award.”

Marc Margulies founded Margulies Perruzzi Architects, originally named Margulies & Associates, in 1988 with the goal of delivering the highest quality architectural, interior design, and facility management services. Prior to that, Marc was responsible for all corporate architectural design, field office design and project management for Fidelity Investments from 1983 through 1988. Over the past 24 years, Marc has built the firm into an award-winning, technologically advanced, service-oriented organization with a wide range of corporate, healthcare, professional services, research and development, and real estate clients.  In 2008, the name of the firm was changed to Margulies Perruzzi Architects to reflect Dan Perruzzi’s 14 years of leadership within the firm.

A recipient of numerous design, industry, and community service awards, Marc has become recognized for his leadership in real estate industry-related organizations.  He has served on the CoreNet Global New England Board of Directors since 2007, working on behalf of the organization and supporting the Chapter through MPA’s Platinum Level Founder’s Circle sponsorship. In 2006, Marc received the CoreNet Global New England Service Provider Leadership Award, which recognizes an individual whose performance and interactions with his clients provides a uniquely valued experience for the client. Marc also founded the Boston Area Chapter of the International Facility Management Association (IFMA) in 1984 and continues to be on the Boards of NAIOP and CBA.

In addition to his professional focus, Marc has been very involved in community and philanthropic endeavors. As a resident of the Town of Weston, he has served on the Zoning Board of Appeals for ten years. He has been an active Board member of Heading Home (formerly Shelter, Inc.) for more than a dozen years, currently serves as chair of the Board, and has led the design of three homeless shelters. He continues to be a strong supporter of the Boys and Girls Club of Boston, CANstruction, and the United Way.
