BOSTON – October 23, 2014 – Margulies Perruzzi Architects (MPA), one of Boston’s most innovative architectural and interior design firms, is proud to announce that principal Daniel P. Perruzzi, Jr., AIA, LEED AP, has been named president of the Massachusetts Building Congress (MBC). An active member of the MBC since 2008, Dan previously served as chair of the program committee, responsible for the planning of events and forums.

Dan’s goals for his one-year term as president include:

  • strengthening the MBC’s membership;
  • nurturing the efforts of the 20:30 Club and the Women’s Network;
  • creating programs that attract current and new members; and
  • identifying the new generation of leaders who will grow the profile and reputation of the MBC.

“Dan Perruzzi brings a wealth of experience to his role as president of the MBC,” said Jan Breed, executive director of the Massachusetts Building Congress. “His energy and enthusiasm for the AEC industry and his ability to connect and collaborate are very valuable to this organization. We look forward to his leadership for the coming year.”

With more than 30 years of experience as an architect, project manager and principal, Dan is currently principal-in-charge for the design of CDM Smith’s new 120,000 SF global headquarters in Boston. His portfolio includes projects for National Development, The Davis Companies, Boston Properties, Nitsch Engineering, Robinson & Cole, and the Boston Tea Party Ships & Museum. Dan is a member of the American Institute of Architects (AIA) and the Boston Society of Architects (BSA), and has served in several leadership roles for the BSA. Dan graduated from the Rhode Island School of Design where he received Bachelor of Architecture and Bachelor of Fine Arts degrees.

The MBC brings together decision makers from all corners of the $7.2 billion design and construction industry in Massachusetts. Established in 1921, the MBC provides a business and networking forum for companies and individuals in the building industry. Through monthly breakfast programs, social and fundraising events, and educational forums, the MBC helps members promote their business while advancing the mutual interests of all.
